Helping Kids Play - Calamvale Special School
The Calamvale Special School needs your help; they need a new playground that caters to the needs of kids with mobility issues, but unfortunately there just isn't money in the budget. That's why we're supporting their outreach for donations, and you can too!
What's the Need?
A third of students at the Calamvale Special School experience significant mobility issues, rely on wheelchairs, or are vision impaired. Not only will a dedicated playground give these kids a chance to have fun and relax, it will also allow them to improve their motor skills, encourage interaction between students and staff, and help develop their social and communication skills.
What's Already There?
The current playground is made from timber and has sadly started to decay, with many facilities having to be decommissioned for safety reasons. The Calamvale Special School P&C Association have sourced a new playground that can be safe and accessible for all students, but even the cheapest options are more expensive than a standard playground.
What Can I Do?
You can make a tax deductable donation today
, and spread the word on social media and in person to friends, family, and co-workers about this much-needed cause. The Calamvale Special School P&C Association are also searching for grants, business donations, and fundraising opportunities, so if you know of anything that can help, you can get in touch at 3712 5555.
With a goal of raising over $10,500, every dollar counts, so please give what you can to help these children with special needs have the fun playground every child deserves.
